Sunny Suits was born in California. She is a photographer and writer. She studied photography at The International Center of Photography in New York.
She currently lives and works between Paris and New York.
Evoking the ethos of Nan Goldin, for whom she was protégé and muse, Suits has captured these intimate moments and private spaces as they present themselves to the privileged gaze of a friend. In effect, the use of the subjects’ names in the titles, such as “Cedric in the bamboo, Paris, 2010” and “Ian in our bedroom, Brooklyn, 2000” heightens the personal nature of the series and provides context for recurring characters.
Hey Everyone, big show we’re excited about coming up, check it:
XOYO join up with Bugged Out to round off the year and welcome in the new one with a bang, a couple of bears, a Night Slug and a Disco Bloodbath. Playing a three hour set are The 2 Bears who comprise Joe Goddard of Hot Chip who had a huge club hit with ‘Gabriel’ this autumn and his furry friend Raf Daddy. They play house music in all it’s forms, from the fun, tongue in cheek like their own ‘Bear Hug’ to classic tracks and wonky bass heavy Chicago tunes perfect for a party. They are joined in the basement with Night Slugs’ L-Vis 1990 and Southern Fried’s Nathan Detroit. The gallery room is hosted by two Dalston collectives getting the bus down to Shoreditch for the night to play disco and vintage house: Disco Bloodbath and Legendary Children. New Years Eve is all about the party and these guys are certainly going to bring it all night long. Advance tickets available from here

The 20 year old, Leeds based photographer Emma Parry.
“Equal to photographing things, I’m a story teller enthusiast and at one point I realised my life was way too weird not to shoot and tell. There isn’t a feeling worse than being somewhere and knowing it would make a brilliant photo and watching it in s l o w motion as it just passes you by, regretting it so bad you want to eat your own face off. This has happened too many times, therefore I always carry a camera around with me, and a spare face.
My main influences would probably be the process of Stephen Shore sleeping with Nan Goldin giving birth to Laura Lynn Petrick, although I find myself loving young photographers more and more as its all so raw, honest and fresh. At the moment I like to follow the works mostly of Jamie Shaw, Keith Davis Young and Jon Stanley Austin.”
